This is the town of Navpaktos, which has the medieval ruins of a castle as well as the only surviving intact medieval harbor in Europe
This is another look at the new bridge as we went under it. See those three dots in the upper left. They look like lens dust on the camera. But actually, they are three men working on the cables of the bridge.
Here is a photo of SUGILITE sitting in the medieval harbor. It is quite small. You are seeing half of it in this photo. The photo was shot from a great little taverna overlooking the harbor drinking beers. We spent most of a day at Delphi, home of the ancient Oracle. I'm just going to give you a few of the dozens of photos we took. You will certainly get better photography and information by looking up the site in the National Geographic.
I was impressed with many of the stones having writing still visible on them throughout the ruins.
The entire area is set in a backdrop of rugged cliffs. The photos do not do it justice.
The site at Delphi also has a museum where many of the artifacts for the site are on display. Here we see a gladiator about to lose the family jewels by a Lion. These early artists liked to be accurate. These silverwork figurines recovered from the site give an idea of the sophistication of the artists over 3000 years ago.
